The Duke was in belligerent mood following this snub from petrol company Shell in 2005 / 2006. His efforts to reward excellence on the forecourt were ignored by Shell executives, leading the Duke to forego his motorised carriage for some weeks in protest.At the time he had to be physically restrained and force-fed laudanum in order to prevent him from riding south to challenge Turner, Grimsell and Rasmussen to pistols.
